SMPA Community Solar

San Miguel Power is partnering with Clean Energy Collective (CEC) to provide SMPA members with the opportunity to take advantage of local, affordable, and community-owned solar power.

About SMPA Community Solar:

SMPA Community Solar is a one megawatt, community-owned solar facility in Paradox valley. It offers many advantages over traditional private solar installations. Before this project, members interested in solar generation had to install panels on their private homes or businesses. This limited the participation of renters and members with poor solar locations. Now, individuals and businesses, owners and tenants, can own clean solar power to eliminate or reduce their monthly electricity bills.

Simply purchase a panel or multiple panels in SMPA's Community Solar facility and start receiving a monthly monetary credit for the energy your panel(s) produces. Each panel costs $747 and will produce approximately $45 worth of electricity per year.

SMPA's Community Solar facility is designed for the best possible production and is located on an ideal site with excellent sun exposure. Plus, you do not have to own property in order to participate. The only requirement to take part in SMPA Community Solar is that you must be an SMPA member.

How it works
CEC builds, operates and maintains SMPA's Community Solar facility, lifetime operations & maintenance program included! SMPA members - just like you - actually own the solar panels. You can buy as much or as little clean solar energy as you want, and CEC will help you decide what fits best with your budget and your energy use.
