Member Disconnect Procedure
Policy Summary: Bills are prepared at the end of each month and usually received by the member about five days later. The due date of the bill is generally the 21st of the month. About two weeks after the due date of the bill, any accounts that remain unpaid and have a past due balance of at least $50 are sent a delinquent notice. The notice indicates a date approximately two weeks into the future, whereby, if the past due balance is not paid the account may be disconnected.
If the account is disconnected, or if an employee makes a trip to the member's location for the purpose of disconnecting for non-pay, the member is charged a $100 fee ($175 if after normal working hours). Members can make payment arrangements and forego termination if they do it before we disconnect the account. To make payment arrangements members should contact a customer service representative. Those members who have a medical condition can supply us with a Medical Emergency Form and avoid termination for up to 90 days without paying anything on their bill.
